5 tips to choose your Perfect Wedding Vendor

Updated: Dec 29, 2023

Your vendors are the experts that will bring your vision into reality. It is quite important to choose the ones who know how to make your wedding dream come true.

Choosing a good vendor is not easy, especially because there are so many different options available that it might be difficult to know where you should start from.

We prepared a guide that hopefully will help you understand what are the crucial points you should take into serious consideration when choosing a wedding vendor.

1- Budget

One of the first things you should consider is: how much money are you planning to spend for your wedding vendors? What kind of service do you want?

Not everyone wants the same. Some people might only want a photographer and entertainment, others don't care about entertainment and want something more intimate, while others want beautiful decor and good food.

What are your priorities? What is the most important thing for you on your wedding day?

Write down everything you have in mind, make a list, and try to visualize your wedding day.

Every vendor has its own cost, how much are you willing to spend for a photographer? Decorations?Stationary?

2- Chemistry

You will be entrusting your vendors with an important service, it's very important to feel comfortable around them. You will definitely want someone who understands your needs and knows how to put you at ease.

There are so many professionals out there that it might be overwhelming choosing a good fit for you, my honest advice is: trust your gut. If you feel understood and that you are on the same page, then you found your perfect vendor.

If something feels off, it might be your subconscious telling you to keep searching.

3- The Contract

Read every single contract carefully, you should know what is included in the quote and what is not. The vendor should itemize everything for you, in order to avoid surprises on the wedding day. Sometimes vendors might not specify something that for your might be obvious. Make sure to have everything written down or ask for help from professionals when you feel like it's needed.

Are you wondering what is the worst thing that could even happen? That the DJ will show up to your wedding day without a sound system. Yeah, it has happened before, and that's why I am warning you about being extremely extremely careful in reading and understanding the details of the contract.

4- Experience

What's more important than hiring someone who's got experience and know-how to do the job? You definitely don't want to risk spending your big day running after your vendors and telling them how you want the work to be done.

Ask them to show your their previous work, do they have a brochure?

Make sure to have more information you can. This will help you understand what to expect from that specific vendor and choose the one that fits your specific requests.

5- Google Business Page & Social Media

It's no secret anymore, every business, from the smaller one to the biggest one, should have a page on Google. I could list 100 reasons why, but we all know, if you are a business and you want to succeed and build trust in people you must be present online.

More than ever, people today use Google to find everything, from the restaurant to the guy who sells shoes in a small town in Sicily.

That's why, when looking for a good vendor, one of the first things you should look at is whether the vendor has a page or not.

A good website page has to be attractive and current.

How does the page look like? Does it have reviews? How does the page make you feel?

All those aspects are important, trust your first impression.

Being present online clearly includes being present on Social Media as well, Instagram and Facebook are the two most important social media platforms you should look at.

People are all over Social Media, they put likes and write comments. Now it's easier than ever to find transparency, mostly because it's the only way to survive in these social media times.
